A New York man obtained his sentence in connection to the kidnapping and tried theft of a pregnant girl and the kids beneath her care in 2023, the Dutchess County District Legal professional’s Workplace stated.
Fifty-year-old Derrick Woodhouse, of Poughkeepsie, was sentenced final week to twenty years to life after being convicted of kidnapping within the second diploma and tried theft within the third diploma, the district legal professional’s workplace stated.
The conviction stems from occasions that occurred on Feb. 6, 2023, shortly earlier than 6:30 p.m. It was on that day that Woodhouse kidnapped a pregnant girl’s car whereas two kids had been seated within the backseat and held a knife to her abdomen, the district legal professional’s workplace stated.
Woodhouse threatened to harm the kids whereas ordering the lady to drive to an ATM and get cash. When the lady dropped the pockets and cash, Woodhouse left the car.
