DENVER (KDVR) — Ski season is in full swing, and more snow is on the way — just in time for Thanksgiving.
If you are spending the holiday in the mountains, don’t forget to take a break and unwind from the slopes.
USA Today asked its readers and a panel of experts to name the 10 best après-ski bars in the U.S. It’s no secret that Colorado is home to some of the best ski resorts in the country, but it’s also home to the best après-ski bar.

Après-ski is a popular term describing the social activities that follow a day’s worth of skiing. The term has also been used by people who don’t necessarily ski or snowboard but still enjoy a day on the mountain.
According to USA Today, two Colorado bars are among the top in the country, and one is No. 1.
No. 8: The Fitz at Manor Vail Lodge
The Fitz offers “elevated bar and bites” after a day of skiing in Vail.
Located inside the Manor Vail Lodge, The Fitz was described by USA Today as a destination for foodies and families alike.
“Their delicious menu is filled with delicious choices, like their grilled mahi-mahi fish tacos, rib-eye sandwich, and Fitz Burger, all of which hit the spot after a day on Vail’s epic slopes. With an impressive local draft list, it’s also a great spot to grab a drink,” said USA Today.
The Fitz is open Thursday through Monday from 3-9 p.m. So, if you need an afternoon pick-me-up or want to soak up the après-ski environment, USA Today said The Fitz is the eighth best in the U.S.
No. 1: Outer Range Brewing Co.
Colorado dominates the list with its No. 1 spot, Outer Range Brewing Co. in Frisco.
Outer Range Brewing Co. said its beer transports skiers and boarders to the rugged beauty of the Colorado Rockies. They also have a location in the French Alps.
USA Today highlighted the company’s 1% commitment to The Summit Foundation. One percent of their equity, profit, product and time goes to the foundation, which gives back to the Summit County community.
The magazine also recommended the famous Thai-ish fried chicken as a post-skiing favorite.
