Wales forwards Alun Wyn Jones and Josh Turnbull have both been released from the Dove Men Series squad and will take no further part in the autumn internationals due to injury.
Ospreys lock Jones injured his shoulder during Wales’ clash with Argentina last weekend and was forced to leave the field. Although no time frame has yet been set for his return to play, results of a scan yesterday have confirmed to WRU medical staff that he will not be available again to Wales this campaign.
Scarlets flanker Josh Turnbull sustained medial ligament damage to his knee, also during the clash with the Pumas – despite playing on – and he is set to be side-lined for a minimum of four weeks, also ruling him out of the remaining fixtures at the Millennium Stadium against Samoa, New Zealand and Australia.
Elsewhere, both flanker Ryan Jones and centre Ashley Beck (Ospreys) have been fully re-integrated into training today and should be available for selection for Samoa this Friday.
Blues centre Jamie Roberts is continuing with set return to play protocols after suffering mild concussion, he will undertake further individual sessions tomorrow, Wednesday, and is also hopeful of being available for the Friday night clash with the South Sea Islanders.
There has been no change in the situation with Scarlets centre Jonathan Davies, who is managing a groin problem and currently unable to train fully with the squad.
No further call-ups have at this stage been made to the Wales squad for the Dove Men Series.
