Futsal is a rapidly growing sport in Oceania. Solomon Islands has been a powerhouse in the region over the past decade with its men’s team representing OFC at the 2021 FIFA Futsal World Cup
in Lithuania. In New Zealand the game is growing exponentially, most recently with success at the OFC Men’s Nations Cup and a place at the 2024 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Uzbekistan.
The inaugural FIFA Women’s Futsal World Cup will be hosted by the Philippines in 2025 and OFC will stage its first ever OFC Women’s Futsal Nations Cup in the Solomon Islands in August 2024.
