Strengthening Defense Ties: Greece Meets the UK
On Monday, February 24, Greek Minister of National Defense, Nikos Dendias, conducted a meeting in London with Maria Eagle, the UK’s Minister of State for Defense.
During this visit, as detailed in a post on the social media platform “X,” both ministers discussed avenues for enhancing collaborative efforts within the defense industry between Greece and the United Kingdom. Additionally, they emphasized fostering connections between Greece’s innovative defense ecosystem and its military establishments.
Dendias shared his thoughts from their discussion:
“At the UK Ministry of Defence today, I had an insightful meeting with Maria Eagle, who serves as both Minister of State for Defence and Industrial Affairs. This engagement was part of my official visit to London.”

The discussions centered around identifying opportunities to fortify relations within the defense sector and boost cooperation surrounding Greece’s Agenda 2030 reforms aimed at modernizing its armed forces alongside British initiatives.
Furthermore, during his stay in London, Minister Dendias also held discussions with Luke Pollard—the minister overseeing Armed Forces affairs—as well as meeting Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesichairman of the House of Commons’ Defence Committee along with other committee members.
