Hoshang Hashimi / AFP A suicide attack left five dead Tuesday, February 11, among which civilians and members of the Taliban security forces who kept a bank in the provincial capital of Kunduz, in northern ‘Afghanistan, said the spokesperson for the local police. Seven people were also injured in this attack carried out shortly after the opening of Kabul’s bank by “a suicide bomber with artisanal explosives,” added spokesperson, Jumadin Khaksar. “The provincial command of the Kunduz police is working with the competent authorities to find the authors of the attack and lead them to justice,” he added. The attack has not been claimed so far. This Modus Operandi has already been used in the country where attacks still occur despite regular statements by the Taliban authorities, assuring that the jihadist threat has been eradicated. The number of bomb attacks and suicide bombings in Afghanistan has however greatly decreased since the return to power of the Taliban, in August 2021.
