You probably have a bag of Wegmans breaded hen breast nuggets on your freezer, it’s possible you’ll need to take a look at the label sooner than your subsequent meal.
The U.S. Division of Agriculture’s Meals Protection and Inspection Carrier (FSIS) has issued a public fitness alert over considerations that some applications might comprise bone fragments.
The alert, issued Jan. 27, applies to 46-ounce applications of “Wegmans Family Pack Fully Cooked Breaded Chicken Breast with Rib Meat” produced on Aug. 26, 2024.
The most efficient-if-used-by date is Aug. 26, 2025, and the code “P-33944” is outlined within the USDA mark of inspection.
Whilst no recall has been issued—because the product is now not to be had on the market—FSIS officers warn that some applications may nonetheless be people’ houses.
“FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ freezers,” the advisory stated. “Consumers who have purchased this product are urged not to consume it. This product should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.”
The affected nuggets have been disbursed to Wegmans places in Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
FSIS issued the alert after Wegmans won a large number of lawsuits from shoppers about bone fragments within the nuggets. Thus far, there were no showed reviews of accidents.
