The Chicago Cubs missed the postseason for a fourth straight season after finishing with a record of 83-79 and second in the National League Central in 2024.
This offseason, they have made some notable transactions to improve their roster for 2025.
The biggest acquisition came in a trade with the Houston Astros when they added outfielder Kyle Tucker.
While the Cubs look to break their streak of missing the playoffs, their first game of the season will put them to the test.
Cubs starting pitcher Jameson Taillon revealed his honest thoughts on facing the Los Angeles Dodgers in Japan to open the 2025 season.
“I mean it’s a pretty sweet roster they got over there, there’s no doubt,” Taillon said, via Foul Territory.

The star power of the Dodgers does not go unnoticed by other players as Taillon acknowledged how good their team is.
Taillon debuted in 2016 with the Pittsburgh Pirates and has played the past two seasons for the Cubs.
While Taillon notes how good the Dodgers look, he also states that any team can be beaten if the opposing team shows up to play.
The Dodgers will likely win a ton of games in 2025, but they will also lose a handful, and Taillon appears ready for the task when the Cubs take them on in Japan.
