The Londoners, Peckham: A741TTW in Abingdon Street, Westminster

1984 Ensign Enterprise CH43/22C
Originally built 1973 as London Transport DMS590 (MLK590L), Daimler Fleetline CRL6 Park Royal H44/27D
The technical details of the conversion by Ensign have not been documented in sources accessible to me, but the extent of the reconstruction was sufficient to justify both a new chassis number and a new registration. In particular how much of the original body was retained is not obvious other than than the roof and rear emergency exit.
Globus policy was to use subcontractors and it was owned by The Londoners from initial purchase in 1984 until withdrawn in June 1989. After subsequently passing through a number of hands my latest record has it back at Ensign for preservation since 2000.
