LONDON, January 15 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has arrived in the capital of the United Kingdom for a five-day working visit, aimed at enhancing connections with Malaysia’s fourth most significant trading partner within the European Union.
His arrival took place at Stansted Airport at 10:50 PM local time on Tuesday (6:50 AM Wednesday, Malaysian time), following his recent three-day trip to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
Welcoming the Prime Minister upon his arrival were prominent figures including Datuk Zakri Jaafar, the Malaysian High Commissioner to the UK and Northern Ireland; Defence Attaché Datuk Brig Gen Safwan @ Asri Ismail; Richard Wildash, Special Representative for Britain’s Foreign Secretary; and David Wallace, Chargé d’Affaires at the British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur.
A Milestone Visit
This is Anwar’s inaugural journey to the UK since assuming office in November 2022. His visit is made possible through an invitation from UK counterpart Keir Starmer.

During his London visit schedule includes meetings with key officials such as Sir Lindsay Hoyle, Speaker of House of Commons.
