Botafogo Vs Racing Club
The ceremonial ‘curtain raiser’ for the 2025 South American soccer season includes last year’s Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana winners Botafogo and Racing Club.
Brazilian side Botafogo and Racing Club from Buenos Aires will go head-to-head in two legs on February 20th and 27th to see who will be crowned the CONMBEOL Recopa champion.
Much like when both sides played in home semi finals last season, on the continental stage games like these always provide a spectacular atmosphere and a heated game on the pitch. Bragging rights mean more in South America and both teams will be desperate to win this tie and claim another piece of silverware.
Argentina Vs Brazil
On March 26th Argentina will take on Brazil in Buenos Aires in a qualifying match for the FIFA 2026 World Cup.
Spectacles don’t come any more high profile than this one. The iconic blue and white stripes of Argentina will host the canary yellow of Brazil as two neighbours do battle in one of soccers most famous head-to-heads.
Even though both teams will qualify for the tournament, there is a lot of importance put on ‘derby’ fixtures like these. No love will be lost between neighbours, and top of the league in South America is a spot that both proud nations will want to claim.

River Plate Vs Boca Juniors
April 27th 2025 will see the first ‘Superclasico’ of the year as River Plate take on Boca Juniors at the Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires’ world-famous derby.
One of the planets most anticipated games is home to incredible passion and colour and it is beamed across television screens on all four corners of the globe.
This coming year, the rivalry will be as strong as ever, as both River Plate and Boca Juniors feel the weight of expectation on their shoulders following poor 2024 campaigns for both teams. Both sides will also look to out-do the other in the FIFA 2025 Club World Cup a couple of months later.

Santos Vs Corinthians
Just over a year ago Santos were relegated for the first time in their 111 year history. Now they have bounced back to the Brazilian top flight at the first time of asking and when they welcome São Paulo state rivals Corinthians back to their home, it will be an atmosphere to remember.
From the Brazilian second division to taking on the likes of Memphis Depay, and of course other rivals Palmeiras and São Paulo themselves. Santos’ fans will be buzzing to return to the big time and become competitive once again. After all, they are used to the highs of watching Pelé and Neymar Junior.

Flamengo Vs Chelsea
Finally, Flamengo Vs Chelsea is just one tasty example of a South America vs Europe match-up that we can look forward to in June 2025 at the FIFA Club World Cup.
Elsewhere Bayern Munich take on Boca Juniors and Botafogo will face the likes of PSG, but Flamengo vs Chelsea is a clash of two powerhouses from their respective leagues and continents that you won’t want to miss.
Chelsea has a talented young squad and has received tonnes of investment, whilst Flamengo has had as much success as any in South America over the last five or six years. It will be an incredible test for the side from Rio de Janeiro and hopefully a day-out to remember for their many passionate travelling fans.
