The Milwaukee Brewers made the postseason for the second straight year as they finished with a record of 93 wins and 69 losses.
Although they made the playoffs and won the National League Central for the second straight season, the Brewers made an early exit as they lost to the New York Mets in the wild-card round.
The Brewers lost their former Most Valuable Player Christian Yelich to injury during the season, but their star rookie outfielder Jackson Chourio was able to step up in his place.
Brewers Manager Pat Murphy revealed his thoughts on Jackson Chourio this season.
“I’ve never seen that type of growth in the major leagues. At the end of the year, you didn’t want anyone else at the plate,” Murphy said.
“I’ve never seen that type of growth in the major leagues.”
Chourio played in his first MLB season in 2024 and struggled at the beginning of the year but figured it out by the end of the year.
His impressive rookie season was enough to finish third in the National League Rookie of the Year voting.
Chourio played in 148 games and batted .275 with 21 home runs, 79 RBIs, and a .791 OPS.
Murphy describes that he’s never seen a player struggle at the beginning of the season and have that much growth by the end of the same season.
Chourio went from a miserable slump to seemingly coming through for his team in every at-bat he took.
Although the Brewers lost Yelich, Chourio was able to step up and be the guy, and the Brewers hope he can continue his success in his sophomore season.
