October 8 – AC Milan has announced the launch a Hall of Fame, in tandem with premium sponsor partner Emirates, as part of the club’s 125th-anniversary celebrations.
This new initiative honours players and key figures who have made significant contributions to the club’s rich history. The Hall of Fame will recognise individuals who have represented AC Milan with distinction, both on and off the pitch, celebrating their achievements and dedication to the red half of Milan.
The initiative aligns with the club’s commitment to “preserving its legacy and inspiring future generations” by highlighting those who have defined what the club is all about.
The club say that the Hall of Fame is designed not only as a tribute to past accomplishments but also as a reminder of the club’s historic and cultural significance within football.
AC Milan has named Franco Baresi as the first official inductee into the Hall of Fame.
Baresi, widely regarded as one of the greatest defenders in football history, is celebrating his 50th year with the club, currently serving as the Honorary Vice-President.
“I am deeply honored to have been chosen by AC Milan as the first inductee into the Hall of Fame, representing the glorious history of this Club and celebrating my 50 years in the red and black. This recognition fills me with pride. AC Milan is not just about victories and titles; it embodies style, passion, and sacrifice – values and people that have made this Club great. I hope this project inspires future generations to continue building on our legacy,” said Baresi.
More players involved in AC Milan’s rich history are expected to join the ex-Milano Captain, but a key omission could be 902-capped Paolo Maldini. The Italian once held a position as technical director at the club but was unexpectedly sacked in 2023 after publicly disagreeing with the club’s transfer strategy.
