The UEFA Nations League is back ahead of the 2024/25 campaign and Scotland will certainly be eager to perform against Poland on Thursday after they suffered through an extremely disappointing European Championships in the summer.
The other two teams in Group A are Portugal and Croatia.

Scotland recent form
Despite the Germany takeover from the Tartan Army, Scotland were one of the worst teams at the Euros in June and July. They accumulated just one point and scored just two goals in a group alongside Germany, Switzerland and Hungary,
In the opening game of the tournament, they were humbled 5-1 by the hosts. Many fans questioned whether the performances may lead to Steve Clarke’s dismissal, but he remains to fight on in the Nations League.

The Scotland squad has a fresher look about it.
Four previously uncapped players – Ben Doak, Ryan Gauld, Max Johnston and Robbie McCrorie – were called up. However, McCrorie has already been replaced by Jon McCracken due to injury.

One major blow for Clarke is that influential midfielder Callum McGregor has opted to retire from international football.

There are fitness concerns over Che Adams, Billy Gilmour, Scott McTominay and Lewis Morgan.

Poland didn’t exactly light up the Euros, either, as they also claimed just one point, this time in a group alongside the Netherlands, Austria and France.
The point was earned in a 1-1 draw versus Les Bleus.
Poland injury news
Wojciech Szczesny and Kamil Grosicki retired from international football after the Euros, while Arkadiusz Milik remains out with a serious knee injury.
