RENO, Nev. – Head Coach Victoria Hayward announces the signing of pitchers Jessica McPartland and Tess Bumiller, as well as outfielder Lexi O’Gorman.
McPartland and Bumiller join Hailey McLean, filling out the pitching transfer class. The bolstered pitching staff will bring the Pack experience to the circle, after returning 20 career innings pitched from the 2024 squad.
O’Gorman will join an outfield returning both Madison and Bailie Clark, in addition to the seniority of Tatum Maytorena.
Jessica McPartland / Jackson, Calif. / Sierra College / Right-Handed Pitcher / Sophomore
McPartland joins the Pack after one season with the Sierra Wolverines in Rocklin, Calif. The Jackson, Calif. native appeared in 34 games, making 25 starts and throwing 164.1 innings. McPartland tossed 173 strikeouts while only allowing 128 hits, leading to a 2.39 ERA. The 5’8″ right-hander threw a no-hitter in the team’s 7-0 win over Folsom Lake, striking out 8 in the process.
McPartland attended Amador High School in Sutter Creek, posting a 3.21 ERA and tallying 167 strikeouts in her senior season.
Tess Bumiller / Redmond, Wash. / Utah State / Right-Handed Pitcher / Junior
Bumiller comes to Nevada with two years of eligibility after a pair of seasons at Utah State. Bumiller played 54 games for the Aggies with a total of 114.1 innings in the circle. Bumiller struck out 56 batters and threw a complete game during her two years in Logan. Bumiller was named Mountain West Freshman of the Week on May 2, 2023.
Bumiller is originally from Redmond, Wash., and attended The Bear Creek School and won a KingCo league championship.
Lexi O’Gorman / San Carlos, Calif. / UC San Diego / Outfield / Sophomore
O’Gorman transfers after one season at UC San Diego, leaving her with three years of eligibility. O’Gorman played and started in 48 games for UC San Diego, batting .314 in 153 at bats. She tallied 48 hits including six doubles and a triple and recorded a nine-game hitting streak. O’Gorman walked four times and only struck out 14 times for an 8.5% strikeout rate. O’Gorman was named to the 2024 All-Big West Freshman Team. O’Gorman was also dubbed Big West Freshman of the Week on February 12, 2024.
O’Gorman attended Saint Francis High School in Mountain View, Calif. At Saint Francis, O’Gorman was a three-year varsity player, hitting above .440 in all three seasons.
