The ‌Greater Arkansas River Nature Association (GARNA) and the Collegiate Peaks chapter of Trout⁤ Unlimited have ⁣an upcoming program for ‌middle‍ school students in Buena Vista that⁤ focuses on stream ecology ‌and fly-fishing. The program, called Stream Explorers, ​is aimed at 5th through 8th graders and will take place on Mondays and Tuesdays, July 22, 23, 29, and 30. The location is in Buena Vista, with shuttle transportation provided to a fishing ​location on​ the last class. The program will ‌cover various ​focus ⁢areas including stream ecology, fish anatomy and habitat, fly tying, ‌and ⁢fly fishing. Students who complete all four sessions⁢ will receive a Trout‍ Unlimited⁣ youth membership.⁣ The program is free, but registration is⁤ required​ at garna.org due to ⁢limited space.

Furthermore, there will be upcoming dates for the Salida sessions. This program provides a great opportunity for‌ young students to learn about the environment ​and gain new skills in fly fishing.
